The idea for the project has its roots in the Russian expression ‘to be suspended’ which means uncertainty, not knowing what to do, confusion.

The images represent my own experience of being a foreigner here but also the figure, me, stands in for the alien or foreigner sector within London. It is not a personal complaint but just a comment on those rules of the game I am unlikely to cross fully such as the class system, ‘glass ceiling’, the religious faiths and other social boundaries. Those parts of British culture seem, as it were, strange to me just as I am a stranger to them but they are a real part of this society. However, since I came here I have been learning to accept them, learning how to become a part of the British social landscape.
